1. Volunteer Appreciation Night and Party - C’est le temps de reconnaître nos bénévoles et célébrer

All Arteast members are invited to a night of fun and celebration. On November 14th, we are taking time to recognize and celebrate our wonderful volunteers with award certificates for their hard work and dedication during 2017. In addition, this is a night for members to get together and just have a great time. So come join us!

2. Last Call for Art: Holiday Mix Deadline Tuesday Midnight

Only a few days left to register.

Call for art for the “Holiday Mix” exhibition at the St Laurent Complex Gallery, you need to have your pre-registration sent in via email to josiedemeo@bell.net by no later thanTuesday, November 7,2017

And please note you’re allowed to register up to 2 art piece for the Holiday Mix and each piece max size cannot exceed 12” x 12” (this includes with frame). The form is on the Web site just follow the link: http://www.arteastottawa.com/forms.php and click on “Holiday Mix Exhibition / Exposition Couleurs des fêtes”. As you send in your pre-registration, please include a picture of your piece(s) so we can add them to the invitation for the exhibition.

Please note that we need all hands on deck to make this exhibition as successful as previous years, any time you can volunteer to help is highly appreciated. So please include your volunteer preference on the registration form and email.

3. Orleans Library Exhibition Changeover - Reminder

It's time to change the exhibition at the Orleans Library, 1705 Orleans Blvd., Orleans, Ontario.

On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, please retrieve the works that are currently hanging and/or bring in new paintings (or other two-dimensional art) to the Orleans Library. These new pieces will be hung until January 2, 2018. The changeover at the Orleans Library is between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Please be prepared to record the following information on the back of your paintings: title; medium; size; and, price; along with your name, phone number and e-mail. You can bring up to five (5) paintings although, depending on the total received, not all may be accepted. Paintings must be properly framed and ready for hanging. For those of you who are bringing in paintings for the first time this year, there is an Arteast contract you must sign. Blank contracts will be available then at the Library. There are no hanging fees for the Orleans Library Exhibitions.

When someone expresses an interest in purchasing a piece, they will be advised to contact you directly to make the transaction. Fifteen percent of any sale is payable to Arteast for its operational budget. We prefer to leave all works hanging for the duration of each exhibition. Neither the Library nor Arteast takes responsibility for the security of works exhibited but reasonable care is taken to ensure their security.

4. Call for Artwork for Arteast’s “Mosaic”

A juried exhibition to be presented in the Trinity gallery, Shenkman Arts Centre from February 8th, to March 13th, 2018.

Coming up in February 2018 is the next Arteast juried show. Arteast members are encouraged to submit their best two and three dimensional work to this annual exhibition. We are looking for insightful, creative, visual art in all media.
There is no theme for this show.
There is an entry fee of $10 for one artwork submitted or $15 for two artworks.
Entrants must be or will become members of Arteast.
Pre–registration for this exhibition is required.
Registration opens Nov 20th and closes Dec 15th, 2017.

Appel pour œuvres d’Art pour « Mosaïque » - Arteast

Une exposition-concours qui sera présentée à la galerie Trinity du Centre des Arts Shenkman du 8 février au 13 mars 2018. 
En février 2018 aura lieu la prochaine exposition-concours d’Arteast. Les membres d'Arteast sont encouragés à soumettre leurs meilleurs œuvres en deux et trois dimensions à cette exposition annuelle. Nous recherchons des arts visuel perspicace, créatif et créatif.
Il n'y a pas de thème pour cet exhibition.
Il y a des frais d'inscription de 10 $ pour une œuvre d'art ou de 15 $ pour deux œuvres d'art.
Les participants doivent être ou deviendront membres d'Arteast.
Une pré-inscription pour cette exposition est requise.
L'inscription débute le 20 novembre et se terminera le 15 décembre 2017.

5. Free Golden Demo for Arteast Members

Hello fellow Arteast members,

Great opportunity to see new product or ask questions on Golden art products . DeSerres art store want to invite Arteast members to this free demo with Golden products with Andrea Warren.

6. Arteast's Next Open Studio: Thursday, November 9, 2017

Open Studio days are the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month.
Time: 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
At St-Laurent Complex Centre, Visual Arts Studio
525 Côté Street ,Ottawa, ON, K1K 0Z8.
Open Studio Time provides opportunity for members to meet and work on their artworks in a casual setting.
Fee is $5.00/ per studio day.

NEXUS Exhibit
Maureen Rooney Mitchell, Mari Brown and Danielle Beaulieu are proud to invite you to their vernissage of the NEXUS exhibition of oil, acrylic and watercolour paintings being held on Sunday November 12, 2017 between 1 and 3pm at the Byward Market Square, 55 Byward Market Square, Ottawa. The exhibits will run till December 15th .

“Nexus” from the Latin word nectere, meaning "to bind or tie”, the point where different things or ideas come together or intersect.

Christine Lenoir-Godin Exhibit
Christine Lenoir-Godin will show her work at the The Art Fundamentals Certificate Show Case.
This event will highlight the work of the Alumni and current students of the Art Fundamentals Certificate. The Show will run from November 8 to 18 at the Ottawa School of Art’s Orleans Gallery on the main floor of the Shenkman Arts Centre, Orleans.

Reception takes place on Thursday evening November 9 from 7 to 9. All welcome!


8. New York Art Trip 2018 – Walk the Arts

Hi everyone,

We invite you to join us for New York Art Trip 2018 (from Thursday, March 15 to Sunday, March 18). Three nights and four days visiting top art museums and galleries in NYC. Departure by motorcoach from Ottawa and meeting point for participants from Kingston and Toronto. Among many other special exhibits, we will visit David Bowie is at the Brooklyn, Stephen Shore at the Museum of Modern Art, Danh Vo at the Guggenheim, Francisco de Zurbarán au Frick Collection and Birds of a Feather: Joseph Cornell's Homage to Juan Gris at the Metropolitan.

La Galerie d’art Eugène-Racette du Mouvement d’implication francophone d’Orléans (MIFO) lance un appel ouvert aux artistes visuels francophones de la région de la capitale nationale (professionnels et semi-professionnels) pour des soumissions d’expositions pour la saison artistique 2018-2019.

- Votre déclaration d’artiste (maximum 250 mots; une seule déclaration dans le cas de soumissions de groupes).
- Votre biographie (maximum 150 mots; pour les soumissions de groupes, une biographie est requise pour chaque artiste).
- Votre curriculum vitae (pour les soumissions de groupes, le CV est requis pour chaque artiste).
- Votre soumission doit être en format PDF.
- Vos matériels de support :
- De 6 à 10 images haute résolution de vos œuvres en format JPEG;
- Inclure la liste de vos images avec les titres, les médiums, les dimensions et les prix (sans taxes) des œuvres;
- À noter : les courriels de plus de 12MB ne seront pas considérés.

Les soumissions seront analysées par un comité de sélection. Les décisions du comité sont finales et sans appel. La Galerie d’art Eugène-Racette se réserve aussi le droit de refuser certaines œuvres si elle juge qu’elles sont choquantes ou inappropriées pour un jeune public.
