1. Promenade Exhibit - Summer Medley
The public is invited to a reception for Summer Medley - the latest show to be presented by Arteast. The reception will take place on Thursday, July 20th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the ground floor of the Shenkman Arts Centre, 245 Centrum Boulevard, Orleans.
Based on the theme of summer, the works of art in this exhibition showcase the work of 14 Arteast members, using a variety of media. Arteast’s Canada 150 project of the giant maple leaf mosaic will also be on show, offering the public an extended opportunity to view this iconic work.

Le public est invité au vernissage de l’exposition « Summer Medley/Pot-pourri d’été » présenté par les membres d’Arteast. La réception aura lieu le jeudi 20 juillet 2017, de 19h à 21h au niveau 1 du Centre des Arts Shenkman, 245 Boulevard Centrum, à Orléans.
Basé sur le thème de l’été, 14 artistes membres d’Arteast présenteront, dans différents médiums, une variété d’œuvres talentueuses. La grande mosaïque en feuille d’érable du projet 150e sera aussi dans cette exposition. Cette prolongation permettra au public d’avoir encore l’opportunité d’admirer cette merveilleuse œuvre d’art!
2. François Dupuis Recreation Centre Exhibit
The public is invited to visit Arteast Ottawa’s lest art exhibition
space at the François Dupuis Recreation Centre. This is the latest exhibit at
the Centre, located at 2263 Portobello Boulevard, Ottawa, and includes works
from four active volunteers within the Arteast membership.
Four artists show their fine art. Carole Renaud’s Jazzy Notes piece is
just in time for Ottawa’s summer music festivals. Christine Lenoir Godin
reminds us that even after sundown the colours of the sky and stars appear with
the cool breezes. Madeleine Rathwell’s work has the motion of summer fun. Mario
Cerroni brings us the balcony life on a hot summer day in Havana. Summer
colours run the full gamut and the weather lets us all experience them.
“Summer Colours” runs
until September 11th at the François Dupuis Recreation Centre
located at 2263 Portobello Boulevard in the Avalon area of Orleans. The centre
is open seven days a week. All the artwork is for sale and any would make an
excellent gift.
3. Blackburn Library Exhibit
The Blackburn Library in conjunction with Arteast is proud to present an exhibition of illustrations for children's literature by Sally Tibbits. This solo showing is entitled “Badger Tales” and is based on a series of children's stories that Sally and her daughter Meghan are currently working to get published. The art work, with its emphasis on colour and whimsical characters, hearkens to an earlier time in children's literatu
This is a unique opportunity for the public to enjoy, encourage and support local artists in their community as well as engaging with the Blackburn Library.
