The Blackburn Library in conjunction with Arteast is proud to present some artworks part of “Girl, Then Woman” by Diane Bertrand.
“Girl, Then Woman”, is a serial of acrylic paintings on paper illustrating some milestones in feminine life. For this serial, Diane was inspired by the French philosopher Simone de Beauvoir’s writing:
“One is not born a woman, one becomes”. This show is a departure from Diane’s well known felted wool works and shows a new side of her talent..
This is a unique opportunity for the public to enjoy, encourage and support local artists in their community as well as engaging with the Blackburn Library.

Hours: Mon. through Thurs. 10 – 8:30. Friday 1 – 6:00 and Sat. 10 – 5. Closed Sunday.

Hello! I will be showing a cross-selection of my larger acrylic works, and some of my sculptures in the city of Rockland, at the Clarence-Rockland Recreation and Cultural Complex localted at 1525 Du Parc Ave. in Rockland from December 1 to December 8th 2016, between the hours of 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

You and your guests are invited to (shop for Christmas / parties) attend an Open House where Christine will be selling her original artwork, and Colours will be selling jewellery (designed and hand-crafted by Christine). The jewellery will be for sale at 50% off the ticketed price.
Date: Every Saturday in November (5, 12, 19, 26).
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

3. Call for Artists at the Foyer Gallery
The Foyer Gallery Artist Association (FGAA) is accepting artist applications for gallery membership between November 1 and November 30 (until midnight), 2016.
The Foyer Gallery is an artist-run exhibition space, operating under the auspices of the Foyer Gallery Artists’ Association and the City of Ottawa.
Member artists at the Foyer gallery are carefully selected through a juried process aimed to ensure that the exhibited works would consistently be of high quality and adequately diverse in nature.
