1. Arteast Digest on Blogspot - Only two weeks left to register

Arteast is modernizing its email communications to its members. Over the course of the next 2 weeks, you must register here at http://arteastottawa.blogspot.ca to continue receiving announcements that are sent to you at least once a week. Some messages may contain commercial content, e.g. notices of workshops and art shows.

The Zen of Pop: Andy Warhol Meets Joseph Campbell
Maureen O'Neill is an artist with an international reputation. Her work is found in collections throughout the British Isles, Ireland and Europe; across Canada and the United States; in Central and South America; and in Africa, Australia and New Zealand as well. Two pieces from her Alice in Wonderland series are currently to be seen at a Canadian Embassy in Europe, along with two landscapes. She will be teaching painting in St. Pierre and Miquelon this fall, and working on a series in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, this winter.
The genre of Neo-Fabulism refers to telling stories and telling lies. My paintings do both, drawing from nature to create illusion. Which aspires to truth.



3. Orleans Library Changeover

It’s time to change the exhibit at the Orleans Library, 1705 Orleans Blvd, Orleans. ON

On Tuesday, May 5th 2015, please retrieve your works that have been hanging for the past two months and/or bring in new paintings, or other two dimensional art work

These new pieces will be hung until Tuesday July 7, 2015

The change over time at the library is between 10:30 am and 11:30 am

All artwork must be identified on the back of the work with: Title, Medium, Size and Price
along with your name, phone number and email. You can bring up to 5 pieces although not all may be accepted. Paintings must be properly framed ready for hanging.

An Arteast contract must be signed and is available at the library.

 

4. Arteast Open Studio / Studio Libre – St. Laurent Complex

Note: May Studio days will be on WEDNESDAYS MAY 13 & 27
June’s date is on our usual Thursday, June 11, 2015
Please pre-register for the next “open studio” We require 6 members per session for the studio to run. The registration form is available on the Arteast website http://www.arteastottawa.com. Please confirm your participation with one of the following Arteast Volunteers

8:30 a.m. Leave the Shenkman Art Centre by air-conditioned bus
8:00 - 9:00 p.m. Arrival at the Shenkman Centre, depending on traffic and stop for a break.

Included in the price is bus transportation, entrance fees and tour guides.
We need at least 32 people for the trip to be viable.
